GENERAL INFORMATION

Cerro Caviahue Ski Resort is located 360 km northwest of Neuquén and 1550 km. from Buenos Aires. Its privileged location on the high Andes Mountains guarantees the best quality and the greatest amount of snow throughout the winter season.

The Ski Center, whose base is 1,650 meters above sea level and immersed in a protected natural area of ancient araucarias, offers a wide winter sports offer with options for the whole family.

Cerro Caviahue Ski Resort has 13 lifts and 22 slopes on 325 hectares of skiable surface. L

 

It has 2 “Carpet Lift”, which are a means of elevation through a conveyor belt so that beginners can access their first descents more easily.

Throughout the season, the Cerro Caviahue Ski & Snowboard School offers private and group classes (from five people), for all ages and levels of education.

During the winter season various events take place such as Rugby Extreme, Snow Polo Cup and the Eco Caviahue Environmental Festival, torch descents and competitions among the students of the Ski School.

TRACK EQUIPMENT

The preparation of slopes represents one of our most differentiating and exclusive assets of our services. It guarantees the fun of our clients, their learning and improvement in sports practices, and also their safety.

We use state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, as well as human resources with more than twenty experts and specialists, for the constant preparation and conditioning of the snow throughout the season.

We have facilities for the manufacture of artificial snow, especially snow cannons that support the support and maintenance of specific areas within the station. This technology adds greater availability of use of tracks and services associated with the practice of sports in the mountains.

SAFETY FIRST - EQUIPMENT

Both in skiing and in sonwboarding, there are risk factors to avoid them, it is necessary to take into account the use of safety elements. Comfort is the key. You tend to use more protection if it is comfortable and if it allows you to move freely.

  • Helmets: It is mandatory for minors up to 14 years old. It is an obvious protection to minimize impacts against hard snow, rails and caissons.

  • Body Protector: There is a wide variety of equipment that are comfortable to use and protect your body. Several motocross, bmx, roller and skateboard businesses have different options and brands. KNEES, ELBOWS, SHOULDERS AND WRISTS ARE THE POINTS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT.

REGULATION
  • The skier or snowboarder must behave in a way that does not endanger or harm others.

  • Control your descent at all times.

  • If you go down, take the direction that guarantees the safety of those below.

  • If you enter a track you must look up and down making sure the track is clear.

  • Avoid stopping in the middle of a track, and especially in narrow places or places with poor visibility.

  • When going up and down on foot, they must do so on the side of the track.

  • Obey the signs or directions found on the runway, lift, or near them.

  • Help in the event of an accident and notify the staff of the complex.

  • All users and witnesses involved in an accident must provide each other with their names and addresses.

  • THE USE OF A HELMET IS MANDATORY IN MINORS UNDER 14 YEARS OLD.
